You spot the fish. Stalk the fish. Get close enough without spooking it. If you can cast a little further it helps a lot. Then you have to cast to the right end. Not always easy in the grass. Figure out how fast it’s moving. Lay it out there without spooking it with your flyline in the air. Intercept the fishes path. Move the fly just the right way. Not get snagged in the grass. Don’t take it out of its field of vision. Wiggle it, just a little bit. Then maybe…. just maybe… you will see something that looks like that picture up there. But I’m not making any guarantees.
