Fishing better where there are no gill nets in NC

Getting ready for a trip to an area around here where gill nets have been prohibited for the past couple of years. It’s pretty astounding the amount of life there is in this area. Pretty amazing when just a few years ago it was one of the most heavily netted areas in the state and if you went over there you would not see anything but houndfish and pinfish. Now there are reds, trout, ladyfish, spanish mackerel, blacktip sharks and who knows what else. The economic boon to the towns over there if this area were allowed to become a fishing mecca would be amazing but they are stuck with the model that they know which is for about a dozen people to be making a few measly pennies per hour while everybody else wonders where the fish are.
