Yesterday our illustrious Marine Fisheries Commision voted 5-2 to reject the DMF directors proposal to close inshore waters to gill netting this summer. More of the same old thing. Commercial interests continue to rule, to heck with actual facts. They follow the “science”… who do the “researchers” really work for? The woman who is the dispatcher at DMF has a tattoo of a gill net on her arm! Look for the National Marine Fisheries Service to step in here soon.
