The hypocrisy of commercial fishing interests

Great article by Jeffrey Weeks about how commercial fishing groups have cut their own throats over the years due to their own ignorance and inability to compromise or even regulate their own interests. Now they are trying to make it sound like environmental groups are going to try to ban ALL fishing. This is just dumb. Nobody believes them and they are grabbing at straws.

Now, they are in trouble and commercial groups know in a direct fight against environmentalists they will lose. So they are clinging to an amazingly brazen life line: they have decided to scare recreational fishermen in an effort to get recs like me to fight the environmentalists with them.
